Our own individual struggles & healing journey’s have led us to co-create this community space - we want to empower other Mom’s who are struggling during perimenopause with issues such as chronic stress, trauma & dysfunctional relationships with others

We want to help you break free from trauma cycles & limiting self beliefs and help you to become who you really want to be

MEET KERRY

I’m Kerry, co-founder of The Journey Space.

My journey into natural health & healing began with a childhood marked by trauma, growing up in an environment of domestic violence & adults who struggled emotionally. I have discovered that these early experiences shaped many of my dysfunctional patterns in adulthood.

For many years, I immersed myself in a demanding corporate career - becoming a workaholic in a relentless pursuit of achievement which often caused me to end up in a state of burnout & feeling very disconnected from myself. I didn't realise back then that these dysfunctional patterns in adulthood were shaped primarily by my early years experiences. The birth of my child at the age of 36 years old, was a transformative moment in my life & a subsequent journey where my suppressed unresolved traumas re-surfaced which initiated a profound journey of self-discovery & healing.

In 2018, I felt a compelling call to explore Homeopathy and natural health which ignited a deep passion within me. This path led me to further training in transformational somatic breathwork, a practice that is and continues to be instrumental in my own healing process. Through these somatic practices and the use of natural medicine, I have been able to release a lot of stored trauma held in both my mind and body & am now embracing the journey into perimenopause & beyond.

I am a huge advocate of the mind & body connection and that all physical & mental symptoms are a manifestation of stored trauma & unexpressed emotions which are the key to healing. My mission is to share these powerful tools with other Mothers to help them reconnect with their innate ability to heal so that the Menopause journey of stepping into who you truly are can be embraced instead of feared.

MEET EMMA

Hi, I'm Emma, co-founder of The Journey Space, yoga teacher, therapist, mum and wife. As a highly sensitive child from a broken home, I spent my childhood escaping into books and people-pleasing as a way to feel safe and avoid my feelings. 

When I fell pregnant at 27 after only a few months with my partner (now husband), life as I knew it began to crumble. Only 6 weeks after the birth of our daughter, my partner became critically ill and for the next 12 years I spent months at a time in and out of hospitals whilst trying to juggle motherhood, work and life. My career in TV was no longer tenable, I experienced PND, panic attacks and anxiety (all of this hidden from friends, family and colleagues). My relationship was a shell. Financial instability, loss of identity, illness and trauma were the hallmarks of my existence. Living life in survival mode, lurching from one crisis to the next, it was too easy to by-pass my own healing, focusing on others rather than myself. 

During this time I undertook a 4 day Vision Quest retreat in the mountains of Snowdonia, trained and worked as a yoga teacher leading retreats, classes and workshops and diving deep into shadow work and trauma theory. I have since trained in Emotional Relearning Therapy and Somatic Healing. 

Inevitably, at some point I had to shine the light on myself and 5 years ago I began the  work of unflinching self-discovery, integrating my own shadows & pain & my healing journey continues as I navigate peri-menopause.

It is now my absolute passion to reach as many other women as possible and to guide them on the journey to find their own truth, to let go of old patterns and stress and to allow the joy of presence to flow through every level of life.

Our mission is to help other Moms

When life gets too much, these amazing somatic practices really allow me to ‘come down’ in mind, body & soul & help me feel so calm & relaxed. I used to find being still, going inwards & feeling into my body really difficult but now it’s a blissful & beautifully quiet experience. Learning how to allow the stillness & calm into my life through these teachings and practices has been hugely valuable to me”
